What began as a niche <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">technical gathering has grown into THE meeting point for engineers, contractors, developers and researchers working on <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">one of construction&#8217;s biggest carbon-reduction opportunities: keeping existing foundations in the ground instead of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">demolishing and rebuilding.<br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">From historical timber piles under Amsterdam&#8217;s canal houses to 20th-century concrete bridge piles, the central question <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">keeps sponsors and delegates coming back: how do you reliably assess the remaining bearing capacity and service life of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">foundations whose original design records are gone?
